My step father bought plots in the prime area when this company first started selling plots. We buried him almost 10 years ago and when I attempted to get a double marker for both him and Mom they claimed we had to pay this 2000.00 x2 for perpetual care plus the marker. A shame.

I recently tried to purchase a companion grave marker from Garden Memorial. My mother passed away in May of 2009 and my father was buried there in 1993. Of course both plots were purchased by my parents 20 years ago. They informed me that in addition to the cost of the marker, approximately a $1500 value, I would have to pay a "perpetual care" fee, bringing the total cost to $3500. They sited a new Mississippi law requiring payment of the additional $2000. After contacting the Secretary of State's office, I learned that this fee was not supposed to be attached to the purchase of merchandise, such as grave markers. These people are shameful! Buyer beware!
